USDC, WETH arrive on Neo X through Chainlink CCIP-powered Transporter bridge

$USDC and WETH are actually out there on Neo X by Chainlink’s CCIP-powered Transporter bridge, marking the primary tokens configured for cross-chain switch on the community’s CCIP integration. The activation opens the door for stablecoin and $ETH liquidity on Neo X, opening pathways for DeFi, buying and selling, and utility improvement throughout the ecosystem.
When NNT lined the preliminary CCIP MainNet deployment in Could, the mixing supported solely arbitrary messaging with a single Neo X-Ethereum lane and no tokens configured for switch. The Sept. 14 announcement adjustments that standing, activating the token switch performance that had remained dormant since deployment.
Bridged $USDC and WETH
The tokens out there by the mixing are $USDC.e and WETH. $USDC.e is a bridged illustration of $USDC, distinct from native Circle-issued $USDC. It’s created by a lock-and-mint mechanism: $USDC is locked in a vault on the supply chain, and $USDC.e is minted 1:1 on Neo X. To redeem, the method reverses: $USDC.e is burned on Neo X, releasing the locked $USDC on the originating chain. The “.e” suffix signifies Ethereum because the origin chain.
WETH is the ERC-20 suitable model of $ETH, transferred cross-chain by CCIP’s lock-and-unlock token swimming pools.
Transporter and cross-chain entry
Transporter is Chainlink’s official cross-chain bridging utility, constructed on prime of CCIP. Launched in April 2024, the interface now helps over 20 chains, with Neo X becoming a member of networks together with Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, and Avalanche. Customers can bridge $USDC.e and WETH to Neo X from any CCIP-supported chain the place these tokens are configured.
Neo X connects to CCIP’s community of 70+ blockchains. Payment tokens for CCIP transactions on Neo X embody LINK, WGAS, and native GAS.
Institutional infrastructure buildout
The CCIP token activation continues a sequence of institutional infrastructure additions to Neo X in 2026: LayerZero in April for omni-chain connectivity, CCIP messaging in Could, BitGo custody in July, and now dwell token transfers in September, every layer addressing a distinct a part of the stack from connectivity and custody to precise liquidity entry.
