Magic Eden scare puts 3,832 NFTs in whitehat protective custody
A whitehat moved 3,832 non-fungible tokens from a whole bunch of wallets on Friday amid issues a few vulnerability involving $NFT market Magic Eden.
$NFT neighborhood member who goes by Cirrus on X flagged the exercise on Friday, saying a single pockets moved 3,832 NFTs from a whole bunch of wallets. Cirrus mentioned the transactions appeared as gross sales by Magic Eden and suggested $NFT holders to revoke permissions as a precaution.
Shortly afterward, Yuga Labs’ pseudonymous vp of blockchain, 0xQuit, mentioned the transfers have been a part of a white-hat operation. He mentioned the NFTs held within the receiving pockets are protected and “will likely be returned as soon as they’re not in danger.”
The Yuga Labs govt has beforehand been concerned in comparable $NFT rescue efforts. In June, 0xQuit helped get better 68 NFTs value greater than $500,000 after an exploit hit Flooring Protocol, with the property later held for return to affected customers.
Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge mentioned a vulnerability was found just a few hours earlier and that the corporate would share extra data quickly.
Magic Eden has not publicly confirmed that its contracts have been exploited.
