The Backlash to Ledger’s ‘Recover’ Service Continues

Bear in mind final week after we wrote about Ledger’s new $9.99 p/m ‘Get better’ service?

The proposed service was meant to work like this:

Ledger would take your password (aka ‘seed phrase’), and retailer a backup of it for you, so when you misplaced your password – you would nonetheless entry your crypto.

The worry was…

The service required you to offer ID, which means if somebody acquired maintain of your ID, they might acquire entry to your crypto.

Not nice. (And the backlash was extreme).

So extreme that Ledger determined to straight up cancel the service’s roll out. With its CEO commenting that it had been:

“A humbling expertise on how one can work with the group for future selections.”

Excellent news for Ledger homeowners:
