Malaysia central bank launches DLT platform for tokenized bonds

Though designed for wholesale issuance, the central financial institution mentioned SSDS+ can also be able to help tokenized authorities bonds and company retail bonds. The announcement didn’t establish any securities already issued by means of the platform or disclose transaction volumes.
The rollout follows BNM’s three-year asset tokenization roadmap unveiled in November 2025, which outlined plans for pilot initiatives involving Islamic finance, provide chain financing and programmable funds.
In February, the central financial institution examined ringgit stablecoins and tokenized financial institution deposits by means of its Digital Asset Innovation Hub, with participation from main banks like Commonplace Chartered, CIMB Group Holding, Maybank and funding holding firm Capital A.
